Water Tank

WHAT:

Building an integral fibreglass fresh water tank in the v-berth.

WHY:

Ariose had two bladders installed to hold potable water. These bladders had pin-hole leaks that threatened to grow and although our bilge may appreciate a fresh-water bath, we wouldn’t. We were also concerned about the cleanliness and had visions of years of sludge lining the vinyl.

They were also inefficient in terms of storage. They mounted in the most accessible cabin storage area under the port & starboard settees leaving the bulk of the interior storage available to us in the almost unretrievable areas under the v-berth bed.

After plenty of research on options, we decided to open up the v-berth storage, and build an integral water tank there.  We’ll share more about that on this page shortly.

This project is underway … too early to document many details but we will update as we progress so do check back if you are interested.

In the meantime, here’s a few photos. Just click to enlarge.
